NEW DWELLING, THE OLD DAIRY
Located in rural Woodchurch, this site was formed of an old dairy building and some redundant residential garaging/store buildings. Initially we gained approval to secure the principle of residential development on the site through the conversion of the dairy building through Class Q of the General Permitted Development Order. We then submitted a subsequent application for full planning approval, to knock down the dairy and the adjacent garaging/storage buildings and replace them with a single detached dwelling.
The contemporary design incorporated a two storey element with a glazed gable wall overlooking the gardens, pond and biodiversity area. This was linked to a single storey building forming the main living space by a glazed entrance feature. The design was well received and complimented by Ashford Borough Council.
The site is currently in the process of being sold with planning approval, but we hope to be able to continue with the project with the new owners.
