BOY COURT OAST
Boy Court Oast is located just outside of Headcorn.
In 2016 our client purchased the unconverted oast and approached us with a design concept for a substantial, contemporary extension whilst maintaining the buildings agricultural heritage.
The result is a fantastic pairing of new and old, with the original building still clearly defined, with exposed stonework, and respectfully sized window openings whilst the extension takes full advantage of the views of rolling countryside around. The interior is laid out with the main living space on the first floor, for this reason, with picture windows looking over a green roof.
The client has finished the interiors perfectly to compliment the external design, and is very happy with the outcome. Small factors add huge value to the space, the gold leaf window reveals, the colour of the sliding door frames which seem to blend with the garden view beyond and of course the seamless polished concrete floor.
Kent Design Studio took the project from Planning approval through to the finished article.
